SIM11 on tour in Germany

16 June 2014

On the 3rd of June 2014, our SIM11 was on tour in the south of Germany, in the Bayern region. The measurement runs were in the “Bayreuther Stern” in the Sachsen-Franken-Magistrale. We drove from Bayreuth to Hersbruck, Kirchenlaibach and Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg. The measurement data of the track was recorded with our Switch Inspection Measurement (SIM) vehicle. With experts of the Technical University of Munich and the Bayerischer Bauindustrieverband e.V. in Germany/Bavaria the data will be evaluated. The goal is, with the support from the SIM data, to explain that through superelevation on railway lines the speed of trains can be increased to shorten the journey time.
