Work in progress SNCF Réseau and EURAILSCOUT

18 October 2018

At the end of 2017, after a visit in Russia with EURAILSCOUT engineers, SNCF Réseau asked EURAILSCOUT to test in France a new high speed Ultrasonic system developed by the Russian company TVEMA.

The test is carried out by the technicians of TVEMA and EURAILSCOUT in the workshop RAMFER at Les Mureaux.

This US high speed system will be tested during 6 months on the US 15 to define and verify the performances reached until a maximum speed of 120 km/h. It will also be compared to the current system of the US15 coach. The current system consists of a video system and a US system (with 5 probes per lane of rails) able to test the rails and detect faults at more than 60 km/h (current US15 operational train speed). The new system will be calibrated and tested on the SNCF Test Track at MEZIDON (Normandie) in week 45 2018.

Then three major periods of testing will be performed on the French network from November 2018 to March 2019.

SNCF Réseau in collaboration with EURAILSCOUT has high expectations of this new system to define the future US train in France.
